AS 48 PERGUNTAS DA JUDICIÁRIA ÀS QUAIS KATE NÃO RESPONDEU

1- No dia 3 de Maio de 2007, pelas 22h00, quando entrou no apartamento, o que viu, o que fez, onde procurou, o que manuseou?

2- Procurou dentro do armário do quarto do casal? (disse que não respondia)

3- (Exibidas duas fotografias do armário do seu quarto) Pode descrever o seu conteúdo?

4- Por que razão o cortinado por detrás do sofá defronte da janela lateral (cuja fotografia lhe foi exibida) está mexido? Alguém passou por detrás desse sofá?

5- Quanto tempo demorou a busca que fez no apartamento a seguir à detecção do desaparecimento da sua filha Madeleine?

6- Por que disse desde logo que Madeleine fora raptada?

7- Partindo da premissa de que a Maddie havia sido raptada, por que deixou os gémeos sozinhos em casa para ir ao Tapas para dar o alarme? Até porque o suposto raptor podia ainda estar no apartamento.

8- Por que não perguntou aos gémeos, naquele momento, o que havia acontecido à irmã ou por que não lhes perguntou mais tarde?

9- Quando deu o alarme no Tapas o que disse concretamente e quais as palavras?

10- O que aconteceu depois de dar o alarme no Tapas?

11- Por que foi avisar os seus amigos em vez de gritar da varanda?

12- Quem contactou as autoridades?

13- Quem participou nas buscas?

14- Alguém fora do grupo, nos minutos seguintes, ficou a saber do desaparecimento de Maddie?

15- Alguma vizinha lhe ofereceu ajuda após o desaparecimento?

16- O que significa a expressão “we let her down”?

17- A Jane referiu-lhe ter visto um homem com uma criança naquela noite?

18- Como foram contactadas as autoridades e que força policial foi avisada?

19- Durante as buscas, e já com a presença policial, em que locais foi procurada Maddie, como e de que forma?

20- Por que é que os gémeos não acordaram durante essa busca ou quando foram para o piso superior?

21- Para quem telefonou após os factos?

23- Sabia do perigo de ligar para a Comunicação Social, porque isso podia influenciar o raptor?

27- Qual o seu comportamento naquela noite?

29- Antes da viagem a Portugal fez algum comentário sobre um mau pressentimento ou um presságio?

30- Qual o comportamento de Madeleine?

31- Maddie sofria de alguma doença ou tomava medicação?

32- Qual o relacionamento de Madeleine com os irmãos?

33- Qual o relacionamento de Maddie com os irmãos, amigos e os colegas de escola?

34- Quanto à sua vida profissional, em quantos e em quais hospitais trabalhou?

35- Qual a sua especialidade médica?

36- Trabalhava por turnos, em urgências ou noutros serviços?

37- Trabalhava diariamente?

38- Em determinada altura deixou de trabalhar? Porquê?

39- Os filhos gémeos têm dificuldade de adormecer, são irrequietos e isso provoca-lhe intranquilidade?

40- É verdade que em certas alturas se sentia desesperada pela atitude dos filhos e que isso a deixava muito intranquila?

41- É verdade que em Inglaterra chegou a pensar entregar a guarda de Madeleine a um familiar?

42- Em Inglaterra, dava medicação aos filhos? Que tipo de medicação?

43- No auto foram-lhe exibidos filmes de inspecção cinotécnica, com carácter forense, onde se pode observar a marcação por parte destes relativamente a indicações de odor a cadáver humano e vestígios hemáticos também humanos e somente de carácter humano, bem como todos os comentários do perito responsável. Terminada a visualização, e após sinalização de odor de cadáver no seu quarto junto ao armário e por detrás do sofá encostado à janela da sala de estar, disse que não podia explicar nada mais do que já referira?

44- Também assinalado, pelo cão de detecção, sangue humano por detrás do sofá , disse que não podia explicar nada mais do que já referira

45- Assinalado o odor de cadáver proveniente da viatura que alugaram um mês depois do desaparecimento disse que não pode explicar nada mais do que já referiu?

46- Assinalado o sangue humano na mala do veículo disse que não pode explicar nada mais do que já referira?

47- Confrontada com o resultado da recolha de ADN de Maddie, cuja análise foi efectuada por um laboratório britânico, por detrás do sofá e da bagageira do veículo, disse que não pode explicar nada mais do que já referira?

48- Teve alguma responsabilidade ou intervenção no desaparecimento da filha?

Pergunta a que respondeu: Tem consciência de que o facto de não responder às perguntas põe em causa a investigação, a qual procura saber o que se passou com a sua filha? Disse que sim, se a investigação assim o pensa.

1 On the 3rd of May 2007, at around 10 p.m., when you entered the apartment, what did you see, what did you do, where did you search, what did you handle?

2 Did you search in the couple’s bedroom closet? (said she would not reply)

3 (Two photographs of her bedroom’s closet are exhibited) Can you describe its contents?

4 Why are the curtains in front of the side window, behind the sofa (photograph is exhibited) ruffled? Did someone pass behind that sofa?

5 How long did the search that you made in the apartment after detecting the disappearance of your daughter Madeleine take?

6 Why did you say straight away that Madeleine had been abducted?

7 Presuming that Madeleine had been abducted, why did you leave the twins alone at home while you went to the Tapas to raise the alarm? Even because the supposed abductor could still be inside the apartment.

8 Why didn’t you ask the twins at that moment what had happened to their sister, or why didn’t you ask them at a later point in time?

9 When you raised the alarm at the Tapas, what exactly did you say and what were the words?

10 What happened after you raised the alarm at the Tapas?

11 Why did you go to warn your friends instead of calling out from the balcony?

12 Who contacted the authorities?

13 Who participated in the searches?

14 Did anyone outside of the group learn about Maddie’s disappearance during the following minutes?

15 Did any neighbour offer you help after the disappearance?

16 What does the expression “we let her down” mean?

17 Did Jane mention to you that she had seen a man with a child that night?

18 How were the authorities contacted and which police force was called?

19 During the searches, and already with the police present, in what locations was Maddie searched for, how and in what manner?

20 Why didn’t the twins wake up during that search, or when they went to the upper floor?

23 Did you know about the danger of calling the media, because that could influence the abductor?

28 Did you manage to sleep?

29 Before the trip to Portugal, did you comment on a bad feeling or a bad premonition?

30 What was Madeleine’s behaviour?

31 Did Maddie suffer of any disease or did she take any kind of medication?

32 What was the relationship like between Madeleine and her siblings?

33 What was the relationship like between Madeleine and her siblings, her friends and her colleagues at school?

34 Concerning your professional life, in how many and in which hospitals have you worked?

35 What is your medical specialty?

36 Did you work by shifts, in emergency rooms or in other departments?

37 Did you work on a daily basis?

38 Did you stop working at a certain point in time? Why?

39 Do your twin children have difficulty in falling asleep, are they unruly and does that upset you?

40 Is it true that at certain times you were desperate over your children’s attitude and that left you upset?

41 Is it true that in England you considered the possibility of handing over Madeleine’s guardianship to a relative?

42 In England, did you give your children medication? What type of medication?

43 Within the process, you were shown films of cynotechnical inspection of forensic character, where the dogs can be seen marking indications of human cadaver odour and equally human blood traces, and only of human origin, as well as all the comments that were made by the responsible expert. After the visualisation, and after cadaver odour was signalled in your bedroom next to the wardrobe and behind the sofa that was pushed against the living room window, you said that you could not explain anything apart from what you had already said?

Are you aware of the fact that by not answering these questions you may compromise the investigation, which is trying to find out what happened to your daughter? She said “Yes, if the investigation thinks so”.
